Workshops 2006/07
FOR THE ARTIST: PREPARING YOUR DIGITAL SUBMISSION

The Canada Council has just announced that they will now
only accept grant proposals with artwork presented in digital format -
slides are no longer accepted. With this movement towards presenting digitally,
this workshop is focused on the artist and the development of skills necessary
to present artwork digitally. Working in the digital lab at Toronto School
of Art, students will learn how to properly scan prints, slides, or negs,
how to correctly format and size images, color correct and prepare artwork
on a CD for submission to galleries, arts councils and other online purposes.

the Instructor: Tobi Asmoucha www.tobiphoto.com
Tobi Asmoucha is a freelance photographer
based in Toronto. Her editorial work often documents neighborhoods and
the rituals that bind them. Asmoucha's assignments and personal work reflect
her ability to connect to a community and translate their unspoken essence
visually. Tobi's photography appears in publiations such as Toronto Life,
Canadian Aviator, Golf Canada and ON Nature.
Registering
in our workshops
We accept cash, cheque and VISA. Fees include GST and the cost of all
or most materials. Participants must pay in advance to reserve a space
and must cancel 10 days before the workshop date to receive a full refund
(less $10). Gallery 44 reserves the right to cancel or reschedule workshops
with a full refund.
Anyone attending workshops involving photo chemistry
must read our health and safety outline and sign a waver prior to attending
the workshop. Please note, pregnant women should not be exposed to photographic
chemistry.
