Exhibition Assistance
supported by the Ontario Arts Council

Gallery 44 is a third party recommender in the Ontario Arts Council's Exhibition Assistance Program. We accept applications for exhibition assistance from Ontario artists with a confirmed exhibition of photography or photo-based work. Applications must be received prior to the opening date of the exhibition and no later than our deadline of September 30. Applications may be submitted up to one year in advance of the exhibition.

How to Apply:

The following materials must be received at Gallery 44 by 5 pm on September 30

1. A maximum of twenty slides or digital images (CD must be readable on MAC OSX) representing a recent body of work or a specific project. Digital images should be:
RGB, jpeg format no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels at 300 dpi. They should be numbered 01 to 20 (01_tree, 02_house, 03_car etc.) Slides must be: numbered and marked with the artist's name and a red dot in the lower left corner. GALLERY 44 DOES NOT ACCEPT ORIGINAL ARTWORK.

2. Slide list indicating the slide number, title, year, medium and dimensions of each piece.

3. Artist's statement or brief description of the exhibition, including physical details of the presentation.

4. Curriculum vitae, resumé or brief biography.

5. Exhibition Assistance Recommendation Form (downloadable from the OAC website) with all applicant information completed. (Gallery 44 will complete the "Recommender" sections.)

6. Letter of confirmation from the exhibition venue.

7. Self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage to return your materials. (Required by OAC.)
Without an SASE we will not return submission packages and will dispose of submission materials appropriately.

8. Budget highlighting the amount requested. (PLEASE NOTE: $500 minimum, $1500 maximum)
