Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography is a non-profit artist-run centre committed to photography as a multi-faceted and ever-changing art form, offering a unique platform for reflection and dialogue on contemporary photography and its related practices. We encourage exhibition proposals from local, national and international artists at all stages of their careers who are innovative in their use of materials and approach to photography. 

Proof 28 Call for Emerging Canadian Artists

Deadline for Proof 28 submissions: TO BE ANNOUNCED

Proof is Gallery 44’s annual group exhibition of photo-based work by Canadian emerging artists reflecting a range of current concerns and practices in contemporary photography from across the country. Proof is often one of the first exhibitions in a professional context for an emerging artist as was the case for artists such as Karin Bubas, Janieta Eyre, Isabelle Hayeur, Germaine Koh, Nicholas Pye, Althea Thauberger, and Andrew Wright.

OAC Exhibition Assistance

Gallery 44 is a third party recommender in the Ontario Arts Council's Exhibition Assistance Program. We accept applications for exhibition assistance from Ontario artists with a confirmed exhibition of photography or photo-based work. The 2020-2021 program is open from June 2, 2020 until January 15, 2021. Applications may be submitted up to one year in advance of the exhibition. Please do not call or email to inquire about remaining funds in our budget, Gallery 44 ensures that funds are available for both our deadlines.
