Proof 27 Call for Emerging Canadian Artists

Deadline for Proof 27 submissions: October 15, 2019.

Proof is Gallery 44’s annual group exhibition of photo-based work by Canadian emerging artists reflecting a range of current concerns and practices in contemporary photography from across the country. Proof is often one of the first exhibitions in a professional context for an emerging artist as was the case for artists such as Karin Bubas, Janieta Eyre, Isabelle Hayeur, Germaine Koh, Nicholas Pye, Althea Thauberger, and Andrew Wright.

"I was one of the artists in Proof 9 at Gallery 44 along with other great photographers like Stacey Tyrell and Althea Thauberger. Being apart of a Proof show is a catalyst for many emerging artists in getting valuable exposure and experience within the Toronto art scene and nationally. I was able to connect with other artists, curators and administrators that helped further my artistic endeavors. I currently teach in the photography Department at OCADU and York University and am represented in Toronto by ESP - Erin Stump Projects." - Kotama Bouabane
