 A workshop aimed at photographers with completed projects who wish to make their first photobook mock-up.


Photographer and bookmaking teacher Christopher Manson will guide participants through the practical aspects of editing, sequencing and bookbinding, in order to make a small-format photobook mock-up.


Participants are asked to bring a set of work prints to be used in this book mock-up. These prints should represent a finished body of work and be no larger than 6 inches on the longest side. Materials to make one softcover hand-bound book will be provided.



Christopher Manson (British, b.1979) is a documentary photographer and photo instructor living and working in Toronto, Canada. His photographs have been published in The Observer on Sunday,Time Out MagazineThe New York Times LENS blog, and others. He is the author of numerous self-published documentary photobooks focused on diabetes and First Nation health in remote northern regions of Canada. A recipient of Visual Artist Grants from the Canada Council for the Arts(2013) and the Toronto Arts Council (2011), and a Magnum Photos Scholarship (2010), Manson's bookworks can be found in numerous collections including the AGO Art Gallery of Ontario, Dorothy H. Hoover Library (Ontario College of Art & Design), Ryerson Archives & Special Collections, Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections (York University), and many others.
